In the context of increased awareness and concerns created by a heightened sense of geostrategic risks the Government of Spain recently announce its intention to increase military spending up to 2% of GDP. As part of this effort an Industrial and Technological Plan for Security and Defence Plan (Plan Industrial y Tecnológico para la Seguridad y la Defensa) was announced by Spain’s premier. The plan includes the intention to Increase health capacity through the application of robotic biotechnology and DATA which considers strategic investments to strengthen operational health capacity, including critical burn care, CBRN decontamination, experimental surgery, 3D technologies and robotics, medical information systems, advanced telemedicine and bio/neurotechnology for the biomedical sensorization of deployed personnel. This session explores what implications and opportunities for the biotechnology industry.
