AI is transforming every stage of drug development — from target discovery to clinical trials, regulatory decisions and patient access. Next‑generation sequencing, integrated multi‑omics, advanced machine learning and new European health‑data infrastructures are accelerating the creation of safer, more effective and more personalized medicines. This round table brings leaders from government, biotech, pharma and research to cut through the hype and focus on concrete change. Topics will include: - Omics integration: how genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and complementary data deepen our understanding of disease, improve target identification and validation, and drive biomarker discovery for precision medicine. - Clinical development: practical AI applications in trial design, patient stratification, digital endpoints, real‑world evidence and regulatory science. - European Health Data Space (EHDS): how secure, responsible secondary use of health data across Europe can power research, innovation and evidence generation. - Governance and trust: the interoperability, privacy and ethical frameworks needed to turn AI into measurable clinical and societal benefit. - Policy and competitiveness: how initiatives like the proposed European Biotech Act can boost investment, enable responsible data sharing, support regulatory innovation and strengthen Europe’s position in AI‑enabled biotechnology.
