Spain and the UK have strong but complementary biotech investment ecosystems. The opportunity now is to connect them more systematically — turning individual cross-border transactions into a trusted, repeatable investment corridor. This session will explore how Spanish and UK venture capital funds can work together to strengthen deal flow, co-investment and syndication across both markets. We will examine how Spanish investors can help UK companies navigate Spain and the wider EU, while UK investors can provide Spanish companies with access to UK expertise, networks and pathways towards US capital. Beyond individual deals, the discussion will focus on what it takes to build lasting investor-to-investor relationships: sharing qualified deal flow, developing common approaches to syndication, building trust across ecosystems, and creating a recurring Spanish–UK biotech investment network. The central question is simple: what would it take to make a Spanish–UK biotech syndicate not exceptional, but almost routine? The goal is to identify the practical relationships, mechanisms and incentives needed to turn two connected ecosystems into one stronger investment corridor.
